Hourly Matching Unveiled: Exploring Perspectives and Promises
Daniël KunneChapel
Opposed to annual matching of renewable electricity production, hourly matching has the potential to truly transform the way we look at our sustainability targets. With the promise of reduced emissions, increased grid stability, better integration of renewable production and supported flexible technologies, it is a topic worth explaining and researching. However, the path to reach 100% hourly matched production and demand is one littered with challenges.
Daniël will explain the concept by means of a local use-case. We will look through the lens of the energy suppliers, the grid operators, the flexibility providers, the policy makers, and - of course - that of the consumers. In doing so, we will create a 360 degree view on the potential benefits, the barriers, and the feasibility of the concept.
