Hans de Heer is a Principal Consultant in DNV’s Energy Advisory practice and business development manager Energy Markets & Strategy for North-West Europe, with focus on demand side flexibility and grid congestion. He has over 20 years of expertise as an advisor in the energy sector, and gained extensive experience in smart metering, smart grids and electric mobility, focusing on (societal) cost-benefit analyses, market design and regulations, market analyses, market processes and business cases. In recent years, Hans has headed the design team of the Universal Smart Energy Foundation (USEF), was member of the EC’s Smart Grid Task Force (Expert Group 3 on demand side flexibility) and member of ACER’s expert group on demand-side flexibility. Hans holds a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Eindhoven.
