Product Manager
Lennart Hoffmann is a Product Manager at Next Kraftwerke GmbH. He works on integrating flexible assets into Next’s Virtual Power Plant. His focus area is battery flexibility, ranging from small distributed assets such as home storages and EVs to large stationary storages. In the past, together with project partners Hyundai, LG and Honda, he managed the first balancing services prequalifications for EV fleets in Germany.
Next Kraftwerke started in 2009 with the idea of bundling emergency generators and biogas plants to meet the MW requirement and thus gain access to the German balancing energy market. Gradually, the company developed into one of the largest Virtual Power Plants in Europe. The company is now present in six European countries. From 2018 until today, the company has tripled its capacity under management from 4,600 MW to over 13,500 MW. Over 7,000 MW of this capacity comes from solar power, making Next Kraftwerke the largest solar power trader in Germany today.
