Kora Töpfer is Head of Regulatory Flexibility Markets at the European Power Exchange EPEX SPOT. EPEX SPOT operates physical short-term power markets in 13 European countries, including Germany. Kora Töpfer represents EPEX SPOT vis-à-vis public and regulatory decision-makers and in current political debates. She is responsible for developing strong and concise corporate positions on energy policy and regulatory issues, in close internal coordination with business and strategy units, and for driving the debates and regulatory changes. Her content focus is on flexibility markets, national and European electricity market design, market integration of renewables, and guarantees of origin. Kora Töpfer has been working for EPEX SPOT since 2016. Previously, she worked for the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy in Berlin. Kora Töpfer holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics (LSE) and completed a double degree in Political Science at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (IEP) in Lille and the WWU in Münster.
