Energy Strategy Charging Infrastructure

Hugo Niesing is an Amsterdammer who has been living on his (now) sustainable houseboat for 34 years, the first 7 years without water, gas and electricity. That’s when his energy ambition started.
Realising as much as possible with the local resources at your disposal by adaptation and storage is essential and the challenge he has been working on afterwards.
Hugo Niesing’s work is fully focused on the smart integration of renewable energy, flexible consumption and e-mobility for Europe’s city transition.

For the municipality of Amsterdam Hugo realizes projects to accelerate the transition towards a carbon free society, with a strong focus on energy, mobility and the smart integration in the energy system.
Concrete projects focus on the flexible integration of renewable energy for electric mobility, avoiding grid congestion and applying V2X-solutions.
Important projects consist of the scaling up of FlexPower3 to Amsterdam city-wide scale, the EU-funded projects Drive2X and RESCHOOL, setting up a flexible, self-supporting energy community in the FlexCity pilot.
