Gijs Verhoeven is a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Electrical Energy Systems group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on congestion management in the built environment, examining various measures that Dutch grid operators can implement to alleviate grid congestion while considering the dynamics of energy markets and the role of flexibility. With a master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Technology, he is dedicated to advancing innovative solutions that support the transition to renewable energy and integration of flexibility in electrical energy systems. His work aims to bridge the gap between theory and practical applications, contributing to (sustainable) energy management and exploring
the integration of flexible resources into the grid.
