Head of Markets & Innovation
Benjamin graduated from CentraleSupelec in 2008 with a specialisation in energy. At Alstom, he focused on the development of Smart Grids before setting up several consortia to develop demonstrators with renewable energy sources at European level, as well as a joint venture with a Chinese battery storage manufacturer, before leading the strategic planning and implementation of the Alstom/GE agreement. He then contributed to the development of an innovative electric bus. Since 2020, he has been Director of Markets and Innovation at Voltalis, where he manages a team of around 20 engineers and oversees the company’s strategic issues.
Voltalis is the European leader of automated Demand Response. Their proprietary technology, embedded in their connected thermostat, enables more than 1.5 million connected appliances across 200,000 electrically heated residential and commercial properties to make energy savings of up to 15% and reduce their carbon emissions by up to 70% while contributing to the security of the electricity grids. Voltalis is rolling out their energy-saving system directly to consumers, in particular through partnerships with local authorities, social housing providers, retailers and other tertiary sectors.
Backed by Meridiam, a B Corp investment and asset manager, Voltalis are stepping up their European and global activity in preparation for end user electrification and aim to equip 3 million homes by 2030.
