Aleksei Mashlakov

Innovation Specialist

Aleksei Mashlakov is a second-generation electrical engineer with expertise in energy informatics. Aleksei earned his PhD at LUT University in Finland, where he developed solutions to enable large-scale participation of small-scale energy resources in energy markets and grid ancillary services. During his time at LUT, he also spent six months as a visiting researcher at the University of Leeds, where he worked on collective learning algorithms for grid-friendly flexibility management. In early 2022, Aleksei joined Centrica as an Innovation Specialist in the DSR research team. By November 2024, he was leading research activities in energy flexibility and markets as the Research and Innovation Manager at Energised Futures. His work is driven by the goal of developing green tech solutions to achieve a more flexible, cost-efficient, and reliable operation of a low-carbon, decentralized power grid.
